In the treatment of open fracture with the broken end of the obvious exposed patients, local cleaning disinfection treatment, wrap the wound with gauze, should be as far as possible to put the injured limb into a normal position, let the broken end of the natural retract, it is strictly prohibited to expose the wound outside the broken end of the broken back to the wound, so as not to cause wound contamination and again stab blood vessels and nerves, then bandaged and fixed.

Again, in order to make the fracture can be safely and firmly fixed, the length and width of the splint used to fix the fracture should be commensurate with the fracture limb, and the length should generally exceed the upper and lower two joints of the fracture.

Fixation splints should not be in direct contact with the skin. When fixed, soft materials such as gauze, towel pad, towel, clothing can be used to pad between the splint and the limb, especially at both ends of the splint, joint bone protrusion site and gap site, can be properly thickened pad, so as not to cause skin wear or local tissue compression necrosis.

Finally, when fixing the fracture of the limbs, the upper end of the fracture should be tied first, and the lower end of the fracture should be tied later. If the order of binding is reversed, it will lead to another dislocation.

When the upper limb is fixed, the limb should be bent and bound (elbow-like); When the lower limb is fixed, the limb should be straightened and tied. When the fracture is fixed, the upper end of the fracture should be bound first, followed by the lower end. If the binding order is reversed, the broken end may be misaligned again.
